Description
Coloured yarns create a rolling zig zag pattern, making the Bakuba one of the most striking year-round throws. Taking inspiration from the rhythmic designs of the central African Kuba Cloth, the Bakuba will add a striking touch to a living room or to the end of a bed. Woven from soft and long lasting cotton.
Inspired by the rhythmic design of the Kuba Cloth, which has been woven for centuries in Central Africa. Traditionally it was woven from fronds of the raffia palm tree and decorated with natural dyes and embroidery.
The Kuba Cloth is one of the most visually exciting fabrics in the world and has influenced many artists including Henri Matisse and Pablo Picasso. Matisse was so fascinated by this cloth that he kept a large collection and displayed it on his studio walls.
