"Yin Barun" by Merryl Greaves.
Merryl studied under the artist John Ogburn for 9 years in Glebe NSW, painting in an Expressionist style using oil paints. She exhibited at the Harrington Street gallery, Chippendale annually over this time.
She then focused on Abstraction, painting in Acrylics under teacher Tony Tozer, exhibiting annually, at the Ewart Art Gallery, Willoughby.
These days she pursues her curiosity of abstract expression, painting in her studio at Georges Heights. She paints with acrylic paint which she feels allows her a sense of spontaneity and freedom.
"My paintings rely on an experience or memory and imagination and trying to capture the essence of that. I work intuitively and enjoy the process where the painting reveals itself "
"Yin Barun" is acrylic on canvas and measures 92cm x 61cm.
